Taking a new step in the field of space, ISRO has launched its smallest satellite SSLV-D2. The rocket was launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota. This launch has been successful. Last year on August 7, there was a disturbance in this launching. At that time the satellite had gone into the wrong orbit.
In today’s launch, a primary satellite and two co-passenger satellites were sent into low earth orbit. Along with the rocket Earth observation satellite EOS-07, the American firm’s satellite Janus-1 and Chennai-based start-up SpaceKidz’s Azaadi SAT-2 have also been placed in Earth’s orbit.
SSLV has been designed to be economical and suitable for industry production. It is for launching small satellites. The successful launch will now give ISRO an opportunity to start demand based launch service for small satellites weighing between 10 to 500 kg.
