Guwahati: President Draupadi Murmu will fly in Sukhoi fighter jet of the Indian Air Force today. President Draupadi Murmu will fly from Tezpur Air Base in Assam in the Sukhoi-30 MIK fighter aircraft sitting on the co-pilot seat. Today is the last day of Draupadi Murmu’s Assam tour. He is on a tour of Assam since 6 April.
Being the Supreme Commander of the three Services, the President is informed about the forces, weapons and policies of the Services. Before Draupadi Murmu, former President Bharat Ratna Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, Pratibha Patil and Ramnath Kovind have flown in fighter jets of the Air Force. Former President Pratibha Patil flew in this state-of-the-art fighter aircraft of the country in 2009.

At such a time, the President flying in Sukhoi fighter plane is to give a strong message from India to the enemy countries. Earlier, President Murmu inaugurated Gaja Utsav-2023 at Kaziranga National Park yesterday and later flagged off Mount Kanchenjunga Expedition-2023 in Guwahati. President Murmu also attended the function organized on the occasion of completion of 75 years of Gauhati High Court in Guwahati.
